Hakä Shiatsu Training

Hakä Shiatsu Training is an immersive approach to bodywork rooted in Japanese Shiatsu and enriched by Traditional Chinese Medicine, stretching, mobilization and subtle-touch practices. More than learning a sequence of techniques, the training develops a deeper understanding of touch, movement and the way the body responds as an integrated whole.

Students learn to work with palms, thumbs, fingers and forearms along the meridian pathways, combining pressure, assisted stretches, joint mobilizations, rotations, Hara work, percussion and moments of stillness. Particular attention is given to rhythm, continuity and transitions, allowing each session to become a fluid and coherent experience rather than a collection of isolated movements.

An essential part of the method is learning how to use the practitioner's own body efficiently. Through posture, grounding, weight transfer and movement from the centre, students develop pressure that can be deep without being forceful, protecting their own body while creating a stable, comfortable and attentive quality of touch.

The training also introduces fundamental concepts such as Yin and Yang, Qi, the meridian system and the Five Elements, always with a practical focus. Students gradually learn to observe differences in tension, mobility, sensitivity and overall vitality, adapting the work to the person they are treating rather than following a rigid protocol.

Hakä Shiatsu Training is suitable both for beginners and for massage therapists, yoga teachers, movement professionals and holistic practitioners who want to deepen their hands-on skills. Its purpose is not simply to teach where to place the hands, but to cultivate presence, sensitivity and the ability to create a bodywork experience that supports relaxation, mobility and greater body awareness.
